Paint Party Friday - Daily Doodle #13

It's been another busy and productive week. I've stayed on course with my daily doodle challenge,   and I managed to keep on top of my other projects as well.

I've surprised myself with the amount of work I've got through, but I'm enjoying every minute of it.

Below is my latest doodle (my sketchbooks are filling up rapidly), which I had great fun drawing. I love monochrome images, but I decided to colour-in one of this week's doodles as well. Hope you like them .

I also decided to try something a bit different. I scraped some acrylic paint onto mixed media paper, then drew some lines over the top. As you can see it's not quite finished. I'm not sure if I like it or not, but it's sort of the effect I was after. I'll keep at it and see what happens.

Wishing everyone a great PPF and a super weekend.

  4. Every time I see doodles on top of a coloured background I think to myself I have to try that, because I so love how it looks. It's a great idea to just use a few colours and keep it simple, it's just enough to give the doodle that little bit of extra. That being said, I also love your black and white doodles with the shading. Very exquisite. Good on you for keeping up your daily practice! It's true that creating daily gets a lot of work done. I set my goals to sketch weekly, but already I sketched more this year than the entire last year :-)

  8. Love your beautiful line designs, John. I have said before and will repeat: these definitely belong in a published book. I like the idea of the colored background as a change, but the black and white images are my favorite.

    1. Thank you, Faye. I'm glad you like them. I prefer the black and white ones, too, but sometimes I can't resist adding a bit of colour. The colouring book is coming along. I find drawing for it more challenging, because I've got to leave space for people to colour. That means leaving out a lot of the shading.
