Up Late

Just a short post today, to display something I did last night. It was quite late and the light was awful. I've one of those clip-on LED lights ordered, which I should be able to position quite easily on my desk. It's supposed to be arriving tomorrow. The sooner the better, I say. I hate waiting for stuff to be delivered. One feels so disappointed when things don't arrive on time. Anyway, here's hoping it will.

The image looks better if you click on it.

    1. Hi, Elke. I'm looking forward to getting the lamp. Really getting into drawing at the moment, but I do need more light to see clearly. Thank you for commenting.

  3. Beautiful drawning! Gives me courage to begin with my coloring book. Bought it a long time ago, but I never found a beginning. I think, it will be TO colorful, when I color it all...
    Thanks for sharing.

    1. Hi, Mascha. Thank you for commenting. I love colour, but I too think that sometimes things can have a touch too much. Best to stick with a limited palette. Good luck with the colouring book.

  4. Really late nights can produce some really interesting artwork :D Years ago I used to do a lot of writing (before kids) and late-late night writing always produced an interesting read the next morning - exhaustion tends to let a few things loose, I guess :D

I like the circle pattern from the background in that little section on the left. And the main red flower is glorious. With the leaves branching out in a slightly curled fashion, I'm getting octopus vibes - the design is almost wriggling on the page, as if it might reach out and snag a finger or a hand if I get too close :D

Lovely work and good luck on the lamp.

    Best wishes,
    Liz

    1. Hi, Liz. Thank you for taking the time to comment; very much appreciated. Oh, I know about writing late at night. When I was writing for magazines I would sit at the computer long after everyone else had fallen asleep. The next morning, I would find numerous mistakes but some interesting ideas, too. Glad you like my piece.
